Il nous est impossible d'aborder le tatouage sans révéler l étroite et l'intime exigence de la présence de sa toile vivante. En tant que marque corporelle, le tatouage n apparaît plus comme une fin en soi mais un acte traduisant une des formes de mise en jeu, mise en scène du corps ; autrement dit un sous-corps d'une réalité corporelle plus globale et interactive. Cet acte de ritualisation du corps s'inscrit dans le vaste champ des pratiques de construction de l'apparence, marquant son support de plusieurs signes et étant investis a la fois par le symbolisme de la trace cutanée. car au-delà du corps, il y a la peau. Plus qu'un sous-corps, le corps tatoué devient un sur-corps, à savoir une extension du corps et de son image répondant à des mécanismes de défense propres à ce que l'on pourrait appeler la territorialité corporelle. Cette redéfinition du contour psychosocial du corps renvoie aussi à des éléments d'identification et d'appartenance. La prise en compte de toutes les dimensions qui définissent la complexité structurelle de notre objet, c'est-a-dire historiques, sociales, culturelles et psychologiques, induit la mixité et le relais des méthodes d'observation et d'analyse. La mise en évidence de la présence structurante du phénomène de stigmatisation de la marque corporelle occidentale a permis de mettre en relief le paradoxe de ses fonctions significatives. Les changements sociaux, liés au développement récent de la pratique et à sa médiatisation, ont multiplie les logiques sociales de l'acte. | 330 | |a To get tattooed, to have a tattoo and to be tattooed is a rhetorical triad that announces the multidimensionality of our object. It is impossible to tackle the subject of tattooing without showing the narrow, intimate necessity of the presence of its living canvas. When considered as an inscription on the body, the tattoo no longer appears as an end in itself but as a wilful act conveying one of the forms of staging the body in its interplay with the others, that is, as an + underbody ; testifying to a more global and interactive corporal reality. This act of ritualization of the body is part of the large field of the construction of appearance, marking its support with several signs and bearing witness to the symbolical value of the trace on the skin. For beyond the body, there is the skin. more than an + underbody ;, the tattooed body becomes an + overbody ;, which means an extension of the body and its image, answering to its own defense mechanisms, to what might be called the body territory. This redefinition of the psychosocial contours of the body also refers to elements of identification and belonging. Given all the dimensions that define the structural complexity of our object for study: the social, cultural, historical and psychological dimensions, we have resorted to mixed and various methods of observation and analysis. showing the structuring presence of the phenomenon of stigmatization of the corporal sign in the western world has allowed us to highlight the paradox of its significant functions. The social changes linked to the recent development of its practice and media-coverage, have multiplied the social logic of the act. The contemporary practice today combines both the stigmatizing effects of the historical anchorage and the aestheticizing dynamics of a new appearance-capital. | ||
